Lost! Please Help! (OPEN)

[Kalaira Darus]

After searching the school from top to bottom several times over since the night she had run into Ben and William in the library, Kalaira was still so surprised that she just couldn't seem to figure out where the darn thing had gone. Sure, it had ricocheted in the weird way that it always seemed to do, which was so unlike all the others she had had. But it had been a Christmas present, and it was her favorite color, Kalaira just couldn't bring herself to get rid of it. To add significance to the special thing Adarian had returned it to her after the last time; and the first time, she had lost it. She simply had to have it back no matter how much Kalaira believed it may actually be cursed.

Not knowing what else to do Kalaira had made a big 'Missing Object' poster, made copies and was now wandering around the school and pasting them up anywhere she was certain someone would see it. The poster simply read:

MISSING!!
Have you seen a purple and white swirled bouncy ball with purple sparkles?!
If you have please return in it to me and claim a reward!
Nothing will be given for false leads or fakes.
And leads will be followed first before reward is given.

Kalaira Darus 5th Year Gryffindor

Realizing that is was a silly thing to be doing, especially by a 5th year, Kalaira sighed as she stuck up another poster just outside the Great Hall doors. She wasn't sure how much trouble she would get into for doing this, but Kalaira just couldn't let it go. Not this time. And once it was found she was going to stuff it all the way down to the bottom of her trunk so it would have no way of escaping and causing more troubles. Which meant that she would have to write home and ask for one of her old ones. She simply had to have one of her ball with her. They seemed to calm her, kept her hands busy and her mind at peace. It was a strange thing to be dependent on but it was her thing and she didn't care what anyone had to say about it.

Kalaira Darus 5th Year Gryffindor

As Tia saw the girl leave, she went to see what was posted. Tia saw that it was a missing ball that the girl had lost. 'If I losted a ball, I would hope that somebody would return it to me.' Tia thought to herself. Taking out her parchment and her favorite quill, she began to write: Lost 1 purple/white swirled bouncy ball with purple sparkles. Return to : Kalaira Darus Gryffindor. She didn't write about the reward or that the girl was a fifth year. She wasn't doing this for a reward. Tia thought to herself, 'I could care less what year she is in. When I find the ball. I will return it to her no matter what year she in. I would like the same done if the roles were reversed.' Marcus, she realized had tought her alot of his values. She was glad that they were family. Her cousin had mention during thier chess game, that they might have been brother and sister. 'If so, Why didn't Marcus tell her?' ,Tia thought getting upset again. Then she thought, 'But didn't he call me his little sister? Maybe that was his way of telling me.' Understanding that Marcus must have had his reasons, she wiped the tears from her eyes. That's when she remembered seeing her going into the Forbidden Forest. 'Maybe she lost it in there?' ,Tia thinking she could remember if she had the ball that day. 'I will check else where but clue her to check the Forest. But how without getting her into trouble?' Tia realized all she could do is write it and hope she understood and nobody else did. So Tia took her quill and wrote on the poster right after the word Gryffindor : check FF sign T. And left it at that. After thinking a few minutes, she went back to the poster and after the word check, she wrote maybe; and after FF, she wrote a question mark. Thinking to herself, 'I don't want her to think I sending her on a wild goose chase, if she doesn't find it.'

Rosalind made her way through the corridors and down towards the entrance hall, making for the grounds. She was desperate to escape the indoors, if only for a few moments, as as she found herself with a nice break between classes she thought perhaps no time was better than now to take in some fresh air. The weather was gorgeous, the sky a clear periwinkle blue and the sun was shinning. As she came into the entrance hall and headed for the doors, she paused and caught a glimpse of fellow Gryffindor and fifth year Kalaira Darus. The girl had just finished posting a notice to the wall and as she moved away, Rose read the sign with interest.

Rosalind scanned her memory. She knew what this ball looked like, definitely having seen it before, but couldn't think of the last time she had seen it.

"I'd tell you I'd seen it recently, but I'm fairly certain the last time I saw it you had it in your hands...so I don't think that bit of information will help you in your search," Rosalind said shrugging her shoulders, and still trying to recall having seen the ball elsewhere.

"Stupid question but, where was the last place you had it? Have you considered looking into using a location spell?" Rose tilted her head slightly, fixing the girl with her green eyed gaze.

Deciding to continue on in her wallpapering of the school with her notices Kalaira was stopped in her tracks by a fellow dorm mate trying help her out.

"I'd tell you I'd seen it recently, but I'm fairly certain the last time I saw it you had it in your hands...so I don't think that bit of information will help you in your search," Rosalind said shrugging her shoulders, and still trying to recall having seen the ball elsewhere.

"Stupid question but, where was the last place you had it? Have you considered looking into using a location spell?" Rose tilted her head slightly, fixing the girl with her green eyed gaze.

The last time I had it was a few nights ago when I was on one of my midnight wanders. I don't normally bounce it around anymore but some..." Kalaira raked her brain trying to describe the instinct in her that made her bounce it and came up with, "thing just came over me and bounce, ricochet, off it went. I was a floor above the library because that's where I ended up before being distracted from my search." Cocking her head to the side Kalaira looked blankly at Rosalind. A location spell. 'There's such a thing?!' "No. No i didn't think of looking for a locate object spell. I should try that. Thank you." I'll stop by the library after I get a few more of these put up. Thanks again."

Rose continued to rack her brain, but nothing was coming to mind about this ball. She was glad to hear the idea for the locator spell might help some, and she was sure that if Kalaira was successful she would most certainly find her missing ball. Rosalind gave her dorm-mate a reassuring smile. "I'm positive you'll find it," she said with a nod.

"Yeah a locator spell will work, and honestly I don't think they're that complicated- but if you need any help let me know." She hitched up her bag over her shoulder and turned to leave the hall, still seeking the solace of the grounds.

"Good luck Kalaira!" She waved as she departed, destined for the outside.

As Ellery walked about outside he took everything in, the sites the smells the castle. Hogwarts is far different than any place he had ever been. He watched as the other children ran about as if in a hurry to get somewhere while others practiced different things. "This may not be a wide open space, but this is better than London," he smiled wide as he took in a deep breath. He closed his eyes to enjoy the smells of the trees as they filled his lungs.

As headed back inside he hoped that he can remember how to get back to Gryffindor. As he neared the entrance he noticed a sign posted on a wall near the door.

It read;

Ellery nearly laughed at the poster but considered if he had lost something special what would he do? He considered the description of the ball and stored it to memory just in case he were to run across it. He also considered the reward but brushed it off unconcerned. He has a bone handled dagger that is very old in his belongings. This is not something he carries with him but more like a keepsake. It was given to him by his trainers and is of great value to him. He would pay anything for its return if it were lost. No reward from this person is necessary, simply returning the item would be of enough value.

If he were to do such a kind thing a new friendship would probably be thrust upon him. Ahh... but this is not London. It is a new place a new start. "Maybe I should lighten up a little and listen to my sister," He considered. "Nah!" He shook his head almost delighted with his refusal. "If I find the ball I will return it in a box or something. Yeah... I'll sneak it into her room or deliver it by some means so as it will not get back that I did it," he nodded his head in approval. Ellery shrugged then turned from the poster and entered the building.

As Miley was headed to the library to look up for more information on the Seven and possibly find some information on her father she saw a poster near the library. She stopped and turned to see what the poster was all about. The poster read;

Miley reread it again and she thought for a few minutes and she remembered that she lost a few things before so she knows how she feels. 'As soon as I'm finished in the library I'll find her ball for her, she must miss it terribly;' Miley thought and she grabbed the poster and headed towards the library. 'I'll start asking around tonight in the common room if anyone has seen it.' Miley thought to herself as she was walking towards the Library. 'As soon as I find it I can hand it to her Kalaira or a Gryffindor Prefect if I can't find her. Since I'm not allowed in the Gryffindor Common room.' Miley added to herself as she continued to walk toward the library. This will be a very responsible thing for her to do and her mother will be really proud of her. 'I know, while I am researching I can ask around in the Library if anyone has seen it. That can give me a head start.' Miley added to herself. 'Miley Potter, you are such a genius.' Miley thought smirking as she entered the Library.
